A “split routine” has nothing to do with banana splits, although the latter was in the news this morning. For fitness enthusiasts, a split routine allows you to strength train every day while allowing for recovery of previously exercised body parts. This allows for maximum muscle growth and repair while preventing the dreaded phenomenon of diminishing exercise returns, also known as overtraining.
